Dear Parents & Students,
My name is Mark Despain, and for those of you who know me a little better it’s Mr. D.
Emphasis will be placed on after care (during the before care we do not have enough time to involve the students in too much work time). I will instill a greater importance placed on schoolwork, so that when your child is picked up they will have more free time with you at home.
Before Care:
Lasts from 7 AM until 8:15, Mon. through Fri.
After Care:
3:30 meet at the picnic tables, take attendance
3:35 head out to play for a few minutes (all of the outside play time depends on weather of course)
3:45-4:45 we will be heading inside to start on our 1/2 hour work time for everyone
4:15- Pickup students in grades 3 and above will continue to work on homework, while the younger students will be engaged in educational games and school related activities.
Fridays:
The hours of After Care is from 12:30-5:15. Students will be given Dominos pizza for lunch (the price already reflects this lunch).
Snack:
Daily I give out a snack usually consisting of pretzels and some type of fruit, this includes Fridays.
Siblings:
There is a 50% discount for any additional siblings.

Billing:
I will bill every person once a month according to when their child attends Before or After Care. All checks need to be made out to FJA so I am covered under an "umbrella" insurance policy.
Policies:
The discipline policy and bullying policy will remain the same as in the past. As will the policy for signing in and out your child. You have to take the time to exit your vehicle and sign your child out for liability purposes.
How do I get started?
Every child needs to have a packet filled out including a medical form separate from what the office has. This form has to be filled out according to Arizona Dept. of Health Services (AZDHS), whom we are licensed by.
For those of you who are new to FJA or the Before & After Care program I will have a complete hand out available by the picnic or anytime starting with the first day of school. The office also has handouts available for pick up
Only students who attend FJA can qualify for this program. Also children who are in 1st through 6th grade are eligible. For students who are enrolled in the Children’s House their parents must speak with me before they can attend the program. In most cases only students who are at least 5 years old can attend.
